Dispute Resolution Policy

Overview

DamnTrailers provides a fair process for resolving disputes between renters and owners. Most issues can be resolved quickly — follow the steps below in order.

Step 1 — Talk to Each Other First

Before involving DamnTrailers, contact the other party directly through the platform's messaging system. Most disputes (minor damage, late returns, condition questions) can be resolved in minutes.

Step 2 — Submit a Dispute (Within 24 Hours)

If direct resolution fails, submit a dispute within 24 hours of the rental end date:

  • Email support@damntrailers.com with subject: Dispute – Booking [ID]
  • Include your booking ID, description of the issue, and all supporting evidence (photos, videos, messages)
  • State the outcome you are requesting

Step 3 — DamnTrailers Review (2–5 Business Days)

Our team reviews evidence from both parties. The security deposit remains held during review. We may contact both parties for additional information. Decisions on deposit disputes up to $500 are final.

Step 4 — Arbitration or Small Claims

For disputes exceeding $500 or not resolved through our process:

  • Small Claims Court: Either party may file in Missouri small claims court (up to $5,000)
  • Binding Arbitration: Disputes beyond small claims limits are resolved by binding arbitration in Missouri under AAA rules
  • No Class Actions: All disputes must be brought individually — class action lawsuits are waived

Evidence That Helps

  • Pre-rental and post-rental photos with timestamps
  • Signed pre-rental inspection report
  • Repair estimates from licensed shops
  • In-app message records
  • Police report (for theft or accidents)
