Acceptable Use & Community Standards

Effective April 2026

DamnTrailers is built on trust. All users — owners and renters — must follow these standards. Violations may result in listing removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.

Prohibited Trailer Uses

Renters may not use any trailer for:

  • Any illegal activity, including hauling stolen property or controlled substances
  • Human transport in enclosed trailers
  • Subletting or re-renting to any third party
  • Off-road use unless explicitly authorized by the owner in writing
  • Loads exceeding the trailer's stated GVW/payload rating
  • Crossing international borders without prior written owner consent
  • Transport of HAZMAT materials requiring DOT placarding
  • Racing, stunts, or film production without a separate written agreement

Listing Standards

Owners may not list trailers that:

  • Have inaccurate descriptions, specs, or photos
  • Are stolen, liened-against without lender consent, or of questionable title
  • Are unsafe or do not meet roadworthy standards
  • Include personal contact info to circumvent platform fees
  • Contain discriminatory language or conditions

Platform Conduct

  • No fee circumvention — arranging off-platform transactions is a material breach and grounds for permanent ban
  • No review manipulation — fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews are prohibited
  • No harassment — threatening or abusing other users through messaging or in person is prohibited
  • One account per person — multiple accounts to evade bans are prohibited
  • No scraping — automated data extraction is prohibited

Towing Requirements

  • Renters must hold a valid, unexpired U.S. driver's license
  • Your towing vehicle must be rated to handle the trailer's GVWR
  • Hitch, safety chains, and trailer lighting must be properly connected before every trip
  • You must comply with all state laws regarding trailer size, lighting, and load limits

Consequences

Violations may result in warnings, listing removal, account suspension, payout forfeiture, or referral to law enforcement. DamnTrailers LLC's decisions are final. Appeals may be submitted within 14 days to support@damntrailers.com.
